I made this flash to show my growth as a sibling, particularly as an older sister. I found out my junior year of high school that my mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. My mother and father had just returned from the hospital and hearing the news was heartbreaking. It was very hard for me to grasp the concept that my mom was sick, but it was much harder for my younger brother who was 7 at the time and knew very little about what was going on. Explaining to him the situation was tough because all he could see was the worst possible outcome. However, I overcame my fears as an individual and reached out to help him deal with his. I managed to grow as a person but also as a sibling because of this experience.
